Loyalty, Duty, Valor

In the role of being a Knight, there are three virtues which we should strive for above all else. These three virtues are Loyalty, Duty, and Valor.

Loyalty: Blood will always be thicker than water and so to shall it be when it comes to your loyalties. Family should come before all others. Also it is important to give loyalty to your employers, having a sharp tongue and speaking ill of your boss/boss's makes you a gossiper and a snake in the grass. Have respect for your fellow employees as you work together as a team to make the workplace run more efficiently. Last but not least be loyal to your friends. Do not spend time in idle chat where sharp tongues are employed. Talking ill of a friend makes you look bad and you are automatically put into the category of snake and you are not a true friend.

Duty: Always be up to the task at hand. If you schedule yourself to complete a task or your employer schedules you to take on extra duty, do it without hesitation and you will begin to rise in the ladder. Your boss will appreciate the hard work that you do. Also fulfill your familial duties. Duty to family shall always come before anything. Your family will appreciate all that you do for them and this is the most noble of all things.

Valor: In all situations be brave, stand firm like a mountain, show courage in the face of any obstacle. When faced with certain death do not hesitate, it is an honor to give ones life for the life of another, and your name will live on in the pages of history. Never be shaken no matter what the situation. But do not be boastful. Have pride but do not be prideful, show no weakness, but show mercy if your opponent begs for it.

Qualities of Arthurs Knights.

The Knights
Everyone has heard of the Knights of the Round Table, but many people are not familiar with any of the Noble Knights save for Lancelot. But even Lancelot, however, is to many people something he was not. The Knights were men of courage, honor, dignity, courtesy, and nobleness. They protected ladies and damsels, honored and fought for kings, and undertook dangerous quests. Browse through the navigation above and get to know the major Knights of the Round Table.

Charge Given to the Knights by King Arthur.
God make you a good man and fail not of beauty. The Round Table was founded in patience, humility, and meekness.Thou art never to do outrageousity, nor murder, and always to flee treason, by no means to be cruel, and always to do ladies, damosels, and gentle women succour. Also, to take no battles in a wrongful quarrel for no law nor for no world's goods.

Thou shouldst be for all ladies and fight for their quarrels, and ever be courteous and never refuse mercy to him that asketh mercy, for a knight that is courteous and kind and gentle has favor in every place. Thou shouldst never hold a lady or gentle woman against her will.

Thou must keep thy word to all and not be feeble of good believeth and faith. Right must be defended against might and distress must be protected. Thou must know good from evil and the vain glory of the world, because great pride and bobauce maketh great sorrow. Should anyone require ye of any quest so that it is not to thy shame, thou shouldst fulfill the desire.

Ever it is a worshipful knights deed to help another worshipful knight when he seeth him a great danger, for ever a worshipful man should loath to see a worshipful man shamed, for it is only he that is of no worship and who faireth with cowardice that shall never show gentleness or no manner of goodness where he seeth a man in any danger, but always a good man will do another man as he would have done to himself.

It should never be said that a small brother has injured or slain another brother. Thou shouldst not fail in these things: charity, abstinence and truth. No knight shall win worship but if he be of worship himself and of good living and that loveth God and dreadeth God then else he geteth no worship here be ever so hardly.

An envious knight shall never win worship for and envious man wants to win worship he shall be dishonored twice therefore without any, and for this cause all men of worship hate an envious man and will show him no favor.

Do not, nor slay not, anything that will in any way dishonor the fair name of Christian knighthood for only by stainless and honorable lives and not by prowess and courage shall the final goal be reached. Therefore be a good knight and so I pray to God so ye may be, and if ye be of prowess and of worthiness then ye shall be a Knight of the Table Round.

My Journey Begins On The Trodden Path

My journey begins on the trodden path, a path that has been traveled by many but has never ceased to exist. It is a path of Knighthood and a path of living a virtuous life. What I speak of is the Quest for the Holy Grail. However I speak not in terms of procuring a physical object such as the mythic cup the Christ drank from at the last supper but I speak in a spiritual sense of the Grail that lies dormant within us all. Yes we have all heard the Grail Legends about Joseph of Arimathia, but is the cup that caught the blood of Christ the true grail?, or is it allegory that keeps us searching? I believe that the true Grail is the idea of Christ Consciousness, the idea of living the way The Christ lived, being virtuous and living a life of correct thinking and correct actions as found in the Eastern traditions. But the Grail that I am searching for lies even deeper within, and my Quest to find and unlock the secrets of the Holy Grail is just beginning.
